Hatua Likoni Director, Gabrielle Fondiller, and the Scholarship Coordinator, Prisciller Ali, met with Primary school teachers to discuss the 2013 application process and to review 2014 applications before distributing them to respective public schools in Likoni.
The goal of the meeting was to give teachers from all public primary schools an opportunity to be part of the selection process. The meeting also allowed them to give suggestions about the
selection process, ways it could be improved.
Overall, the teachers expressed satisfaction with Hatua’s selection process and congratulated the Hatua team for the good work they are doing for the Likoni Community and Kenya as a whole. They promised that they will work hand in hand with Hatua to offer more scholarships to bright and needy students in Likoni. This will be done through their participation in local fundraisings.
Hatua was happy that the meetings were so fruitful, and is glad to be working so closely with teachers and the Likoni community as a whole.
