Are you passionate about using data to drive social change? Hatua Network is looking for a mission-driven professional to join our team as our Impact & Learning Coordinator.
In this role, you'll help lead our effort to demonstrate that Hatua’s deep investment in youth is a cost-effective and lasting solution to ending generational poverty. This is a unique opportunity to shape how we measure and communicate impact, not just within our organization, but across the education and livelihoods sector in Kenya. You’ll work closely with an external evaluator and participate in the Durability Academy, a multi-year learning initiative focused on measuring long-term, life-changing outcomes.

The Impact & Learning Coordinator will play a central role in guiding data-informed decision-making at Hatua Network. This position is key to the continued development and rollout of our organizational database, supports both internal and external evaluations of our programs, and ensures insights are translated into action. You will collaborate with internal teams, external evaluators, and technical partners to improve data quality, foster organizational learning, and drive strategic impact.
- Serve as the liaison between Hatua staff and database developers to refine and troubleshoot the system.
- Coordinate staff onboarding and training during the database rollout; support adoption across departments.
- Gather and consolidate user feedback to inform iterative improvements to database functionality and reporting.
- Oversee the cleanup and migration of historical data.
- Ensure dashboards and reports are accurate and up to date for use by program teams and funders.
- Support the design of the external evaluation, including contributing to the development of the Terms of Reference (ToR).
- Participate in the process of identifying and selecting a qualified external evaluator.
- Serve as the primary liaison between Hatua and the selected evaluation team to ensure smooth communication and coordination.
- Recruit and manage enumerators to support data collection, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped.
- Maintain and update data collection tools for internal program assessments.
- Organize and facilitate “data days” to support timely data entry and reflection by Hatua’s mentoring team.
- Conduct spot checks and mentor session observations to ensure accurate reporting.
- Evaluate program components (e.g., mentor-Scholar relationships, employer satisfaction, alumni experiences).
- Lead Hatua’s annual alumni survey to understand alumni outcomes and impact
- Calculate alumni return on investment (ROI) annually and provide analysis to inform strategic decisions.
- Compile data for funding proposals and reporting.
- Design tools and lead focus groups or surveys with secondary and tertiary Hatua Scholars to capture their experiences and recommendations.
- Gather parent feedback to enhance family engagement strategies.
- Conduct exit interviews with graduating Scholars and alumni to inform continuous improvement.
- Schedule regular team learning sessions and cross-departmental knowledge sharing.
- Ensure adherence to Hatua’s data protection policy and oversee renewal of the Data Protection Compliance Certificate.

- Tech-savvy, with familiarity in tools like Google Sheets, Airtable, Power BI, or similar platforms, and a willingness to learn.
